As the temperature rises , so does the volume. Early spring is an excellent time to get to know bird songs, not least because there are still no leaves on the trees (except the evergreens of course) and it is easier to spot the singer.
I am often asked  for advice about learning birdsongs. There really is only one way:listen! Then look. Keep doing it till it sticks. Trace the song to the species. Try standing or sitting in the garden and make yourself aware of all the songs or calls you can hear, and set yourself the challenge of staying out there until you have matched every song with the singer.
